Social Media is Life…bytesized & multiplied!
Social Media is basically what goes on in your brain turned into digital formats of all kinds and then released into the wild web yonder.
Since your life experience is absorbed through your personal five senses you are generally limited to what is in your immediate surroundings. Now add books, paintings, photographs, radio, the movies, the internet, etc. and each of those extend the range of experiences you get to enjoy in your brain.
Granted, you are still absorbing all that data through your original five senses, but the difference is: you can see further than you could possibly see with just your eyes and your local environment, you can hear ideas and music that are from around the world.
It would seem that the input limit is reached with these two senses initially, but when you consider that you find a new recipe that has foods & ingredients that you’ve never even heard of or prepared in ways you never even thought of – you just added three senses with one subject – food. You get to smell, taste, and explore new textures!
Here is where it gets interesting. You and millions (soon to be billions) of people can now (more than ever before) plug into all kinds of communities that discuss, teach about, & recommend places to go, foods to try, hobbies to pick up, resources to learn from, technologies to engage with, people to study, ways to stay healthy, games to try and nearly every possible subject that you can imagine. And the best part is – these communities are growing monthly, weekly, daily, hourly, & really by the minutes/seconds it takes to read a blog/see a video/hear a podcast that provides a rewarding experience and motivates a person to join that community.
You live in a world of the future. It is here. It is now.
Social Media is a component of that future and it will only continue to grow. Whether you are a part of it now or become a part of it later is up to you, but it should be made known to you that the experience inherent in the world of social media is the enrichment of both your life and the lives of those around you.
With all that said above I want to let you know that I will be discussing the various experiences and adventures into this world I have along the way.
