The Beauty of Magic/The Art of Illusion
Here I will cover a whole slew of topics that all tie back into my favorite skill & passion – MAGIC.
Now, there are tons of resources out there for those people that are really looking for them so initially this will not be a grand directory of where to go to find a particular magic trick/illusion (there are sometimes very passionate perspectives on what to call an effect and that of course will be one of the topics discussed).
I actually need to get back in contact with some people I was approaching on a very specific area of networking with magicians, but life kind of got in the way there for a while so I did not maintain my relationship with them as well as I should and another topic of discussion will be the various things that I experience as I seek to reestablish a connection with that group of individuals.
As I refine my content organization on my site this area will become very expanded since it is one of my favorite things in life.
One key thing I will be covering to try to convey a simple, but powerful message if taken to heart is: magic is a wonderful thing if you let yourself experience it through the eyes of your childhood self and not the overly cynical adult perspective. Yes, magic isn’t real, but it doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy the impossible made to seem possible. You do it all the time in when you enjoy your favorite movie or show – it is called simply suspension of disbelief. That’s right, you do it every single time you enjoy something that is not 100% real or can be faked or simulated in some fashion. Do you play any video games? play computer games? enjoy paintings? read fiction? Then you have given at least one thing the green light to not be 100% real and you still enjoyed it. So with a little effort for some and not to much for others that just forgot the way – magic can be enjoyed again (or for the first time) for its simple wonder. Just think about it (or kinda’ don’t for a few brief moments).
